Pastor Tim continues The Two Scrolls series, looking at Luke 21:5-38.
SERMON QUESTIONS:
1. What is one of the most impressive buildings you have visited? Why did it impress you? How would you feel if you saw a headline tomorrow stating that building had been completely destroyed? How do you imagine Jesus’ words about the temple in Jerusalem affected his hearers (Luke 21:5-6)
2. Jesus told his disciples that if they were put on trial for their faith he would give the words they needed when they needed them. There are several instances in the book of Acts where Jesus’ followers were arrested and questioned. One example is found in Acts 4:1-21. Another is in 5:27-42. Look up one of these stories. What impresses you about the answers given?
3. Why do you think Jesus described the kinds of chaos that would occur before his return but left the specific details so vague? Why tell us about it at all?
4. In Luke 21 there are 5 specific things Jesus told his followers to do. Look them up and fill in the list below. Which one speaks the most to you?
