1. If you had been Simon, which experience with Jesus would have made the biggest impression on you and why?
2. Why do you think Jesus probed Peter with those three uncomfortable questions "Do you really love me more than these?"
3. Peter made some bold statements before the crucifixion (Mark 14:27-31) as well as after the Holy Spirit was poured out at Pentecost (Acts 4:9-13). What was the difference?
4. What have been some of your favorite take-aways from the Unexpected series? How has God spoken to your heart?

1. As you consider the quote by Frederick Buchner ("Doubts are the ants in the pants of faith... they keep it awake and moving"), how can doubt be beneficial to our faith? Or even spur us on to greater faith?
2. Why do you think it is natural for believers to count God's faithfulness? John had literally heard a message from God concerning Jesus, yet he still had doubts. How can we go deeper with God in moments of doubt?
3. Of the three categories of doubt mentioned (intellectual, spiritual and circumstantial), which one's are most pesky in your life? Why?
4. What are some of the reservoirs of faith in your life? How has God built up your faith reserves?

2. Haman's downfall was his pride. Where have you seen pride lead people make unreasonable demands of others? Have you ever found pride doing that in your own heart?
3. What made Esther a hero wasn't her natural beauty but her choice to risk everything for the sake of her people. Are there any needs in your sphere of influence where you sense God may be asking you to take a risk of faith?
4. What was the process Esther went through in preparing to approach the king? How can that be instructive to us?
